{ SIZZIX } How to Make a Butterfly Card

Are you a fan of butterflies? I wanted to show you how you can make a card really cute by keeping the card itself quite simple and adding a butterfly and a decorative die-cut title. Just in time for summer birthdays!


How to Make a Butterfly Card using Sizzix die

Products used:
Sizzix® Big Shot™ Express Machine Only or Sizzix® Big Shot™ Plus Machine Only or Sizzix® Big Shot™ Machine Only
Sizzix® Accessory - Standard Magnetic Platform for Wafer-Thin Dies
Sizzix® Thinlits™ Die Set 11PK - Birthday Numbers
Sizzix® Bigz™ Die - Mariposa
Cardstock, patterned papers, vellum paper, acrylic paint, glitter washi tape, fabric button and stapler

Method:
1. Make card from card stock and let a few drops of acrylic paint.
2. Add an extra pop of colour by adding a strip of patterned paper and glitter washi tape.
3. Round the corners.
4. Die-cut two butterflies from patterned paper and vellum. The butterflies are die-cut with Sizzix® Bigz™ Die - Mariposa, but you can use other butterfly dies as Vintage Butterfly, for example.
5. Layer the butterfly, bend to give dimension.
6. Take some loose thread and glue it on the back of butterfly. Adhere together on the card.
7. Die-cut the "today" using Sizzix® Thinlits™ Die Set 11PK - Birthday Numbers and apply using stapler and staples.
8. Print or stamp the sentiment. Adhere the sentiment strip.
9. Add a fabric button to finish.
